Holidays bring so much to us. We connect back with family, enjoy the festive mood, and renew for a new year.
A few tips to keep you “smiley” during the holidays, and even after them.
Plan a few sessions of exercise along with the shopping, parties and fun. Maybe hike in a mountain nearby, or biking along the Santa Ana river trail, a trip to gym, or a walk in the neighborhood. We normally go to Big Bear or Mammoth around New Year day. It’s a lot of fun and quality family time.
Find time for exercise. In Orange County we have so many options available all year. My family and I went to New York during Thanksgiving week. New York is a lot of fun with limitless activities. We had a blast. But, the weather got cold and raining later part of the week. We are so lucky to have an incredible weather pretty much all year round.
Oral hygiene – it’s even more important when you have sweets and drinks. Make sure to take care of your teeth and gums before going to sleep.
Also, look at your insurance plans. A lot of insurance companies give you a limit for a year. Do you have any amount left over in your yearly balance? If so, think of the treatments you have been waiting for, and see if you can get them done before end of the year.
Connect with three friends that you haven’t talked to in a while. It will renew your relationships. And not just that, it brings back the perspective on things.
Are you into reading? In our family, Deven, my husband does a lot of reading. I love to read fiction from time to time. Last week-end Deven got for us, A Tale of Two Cities’, a classic from Charles Dickens. Try to squeeze in a little of reading if you can.
Enjoy the time around holidays, and take care of yourself.
